Wedding tip:

Set your weather limits before the big day and *communicate them*.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know most of us hope for a dry, sunny wedding day. It usually isn’t until the week of that we can check weather forecasts are start plotting for plan b’s + hoping for a change if it’s not in our favor! After a very rainy 2018 (I happily spent a lot of time trucking through rain for my rad couples!) I knew I wanted to begin setting expectations of weather far in advance. I’ve started asking how comfortable my clients are shooting in rain (or snow!) on their final wedding detail questionnaire.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Each person’s comfort level is different. Are 100% down with trusting your photographer and just want great images? Only with an umbrella? Maybe if it it’s just sprinkling? Nope, definitely not going outside? Wherever you’re at- it’s okay! But I believe communication is key not only in your close relationships but also with your wedding vendors. Our job is to serve you well and we can’t always read your mind.

So, if you’re getting married this year take a moment to think about your plan b and what your preference would be. You can prep by chatting with your wedding party (especially if you want them in the rain!), having a change of shoes ready, an indoor location booked, makeup setting spray, umbrellas ordered, etc. Know that your original plan might need to pivot and set your expectations so you can thoroughly enjoy the day no matter what!
