I’ve been venturing a bit from my typical style this week. I’m eager to start partaking in more conceptual and stop-motion work. I always see epic blogs on Tumblr with hipster photographers who take the weirdest (but coolest) images. Most of them live in Portland though, so that’s something they will always have on me. Indiana doesn’t have lifted train tracks going through the mountains…sigh.  So, I’m working on flexing my creative muscles a bit to see what I’m capable of too. I love my usual style of capturing fun, bright, lovely people doing what they do but I’ve been craving to try something new. These images came into fruition on a shoot with one of my sister’s the other day when she accidentally flipped her hair in front of the camera. We just sat there for a good 20 minutes with her tossing her hair back and fourth to create different effects. We thought the images looked like they were Twilight spinoff. I really like how their hands land in the air. I was tempted to draw fireballs over their hands so it looked like they have super powers.  Maybe next week? Today, is my sister Shannon’s 18th birthday and she wanted to have her own little rendition of Lauren’s hair images. So this is what we did on our snow day. I know you can’t see, but our backyard has about a foot of snow over it. She’s actually standing on a couch pillow to get far enough away from my 50mm lens. We probably took about 50 different shots and these two were our favorites!

Enjoy 🙂
