Last month I hosted my first official mentor session. To say I loved it is an understatement! I’ve been really slow to dapple in any kind of education because to be honest it’s intimidating to be in that position in an official capacity. Scary to not feel like an imposter. Nerve-racking to think- why should I be teaching anyone anything? I’ve met with plenty of folks over the years to talk shop and it’s been one of my favorite things to do. Like I began in professional photography (almost seven years ago!) we all need to start somewhere. You need to just take that leap over the edge. So glad I did!
Madi drove down from Fort Wayne and we met for coffee + then photographed the STINKIN’ ADORABLE KayAnn and Ethan. We danced by the river and climbed all over the hillside experimenting and playing with prompts. This was a fun challenge because I’ve rarely had someone else shadow me while I shoot (besides wedding days) and our main focus was on slower and more romantic prompts vs. a mix of the fast paced energetic ones too. Madi did freaking incredible (this lady is hella talented) and we had the best couple ever to model for us.
